History of Pocahontas Aluminum Company Inc.

In early 1963 Mr. Edd Rose started the company with one other part-time employee building and servicing storm doors and storm windows. He continued operation until July 1, 1966 when his son, L. D. Rose (Larry Don), purchased the company. L. D. added awnings, carports, and patio covers to the sales line and moved the company into a larger building.

L. D. was drafted into the Army and left on August 10, 1966. Edd operated the business for his son until his return in 1968. Upon returning, L. D. added the manufacturing of doors for the truck cap industry, which required several employees and had to move into a larger building again in 1969. The business increased and in 1971 the company moved into a new building and remained there by gaining other buildings, as they became available.

During this time, a glass shop and an aluminum camper frame line were also added. Eventually, as time passed the door business overcame these products and they were phased out. The door manufacturing was greatly increased by the portable building industry and later on by the mobile home and mobile office building industry.

In the late seventies, PAC started a distributorship with a US company that had five locations in the US. This distributorship was a step in the right direction for PAC. This resulted in the ability for PAC to concentrate on fewer items which had a positive impact on PAC's growth over a better part of a decade.

With PACs ambition for growth, in the late nineties, the company implemented its window line. Then business grew. It grew so much PAC needed room in a major way. As a result in 1999 PAC constructed a new metal building consisting of 50,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 4,500 square feet of office, break room, and restroom space.

Today, with our staff and associates at our highest, with our product lines at our greatest and over 80,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, we feel confident that we will continue to grow. We now have several distributors which permits us to sell our products all over the United States and abroad. We feel very confident we can satisfy all our customer's needs.
